This sugar cookie recipe truly is The Easiest Sugar Cookie recipe out there! A few simple ingredients make a batch of the yummiest cookies!
Life has been a whirlwind ever since we moved across the country last month. And with so much to do on a daily basis I have barely spent time in the kitchen. My little baker and I finally worked on a sugar cookie recipe for the blog though and I am so excited to share it!
This is the exact same recipe that my family has been making forever! These cookies are at every holiday, birthday, and graduation party! These sugar cookies are so easy to customize for any occasion and has become a fun activity for all the grand kids to help make and decorate.
1/2 cup softened butter
1/2 cup sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 teaspoon baking powder
2 3/4 cups flour
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Cream butter and eggs together on medium speed. While mixer is on low, add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Add vanilla and mix well. Lastly, add the baking powder and flour (1/2 cup at a time), just until mixed together.
Gently flour a large flat surface and a rolling pin. Working with half the dough, roll it out to approximately 1/8 in thick. Dip cookie cutter in flour before each use.
Bake cookies on an ungreased sheet pan for 6-7 minutes or until cookies are lightly brown.
I always use a simple milk and powdered sugar icing for these cookies, but they’d be great with buttercream, straight chocolate, or even a quick and easy can of icing from the store.
